Logmaster-project: Meeting at the Heilbronn University from 10-14.02.2025

From February 10th to 14th, 2025, representatives of the LOGMASTER project met at Heilbronn University, invited by Prof. Dr. Carola Schulz.

LOGMASTER is an Erasmus + Project whose goal is to develop an innovative, modern training program that uses digital educational tools and is aligned with the ELA Standards and requirements of the European Qualifications Framework.

The outcome of the Project is the development of a joint Master’s degree program in Supply Chain Management and Logistics, based on the ELA Standards.

The project aims to train professionals for management positions in logistics and supply chain management (SCM) providing a strategic perspective to meet the increasing demands of the industry.

The collaboration involves partners from several countries:

– University of Technology and Economics Budapest – Hungary

– ARILOG – Romanian Logistics Association – Romania

– ELA – European Logistics Association – Belgium

– University of Lisbon – Portugal

– Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences – Germany

– Catholic University of Sacro Cuore – Italy

This is the fourth group meeting and its focus was to evaluate the contents developed and coordinate the evolution of the Project.

The Project started in 11/2022 and has had the following group meetings and milestones:

In the Heilbronn meeting the following activities were tackled:

In Work Package 3 “Digital Education,” there was a comprehensive peer review of the course contents. Also, the current status of the Learning Management System (LMS) was presented by Prof. Dr. Edtmeier. A link from the E-Learning Platform to the Logmaster homepage will still be created. The final version is expected to be available by the end of June 2025.

In Work Package 4 “Dissemination and Education,”, we reviewed several dissemination activities such as social networks, newsletters, etc. A total of 8 workshops (multiplier Events) are planned, and current newsletters will be published for them as well. In this context, the Technical Lab of Heilbronn University was also visited, where current developments in virtual training methods (e.g., for safety training for logistics professionals) were presented.

For example, warehouse areas can be virtually depicted, with errors embedded and simulated, which must then be identified by the employees.

Thus, the LOGMASTER project makes an important contribution to international cooperation and the advancement of logistics education at the higher education level.

To summarize, the main objectives of the project are:

– Development of a joint Master’s degree program based on the ELA Qualification Standards.

– Introduction of new, flexible educational approaches that enable students to specifically expand their competencies in logistics and supply chain management.

– Promotion of cooperation between higher education institutions, certification bodies, and the logistics industry.

Another goal is to implement a Learning management system platform for exchange and cooperation among the partners. 

This platform will help promote practical learning methods and strengthen the digital competencies of teaching staff.
