European Logistics Association
ELA, the European Logistics Association, is a federation of national organisations, covering almost every country in Europe as well as outside of Europe .
ELA aims to provide an international forum for networking , the promotion and development of the logistics and supply chain profession.
- From the finalists of national award winning projects, the European Award for Logistics Excellence celebrates the best Logistics project of the year as well as the best Logistics professional of the year.
- To promote the profession doctorate students from all over Europe are invited to join an annual ELA Doctorate Workshop in order to explore papers on a range of logistics and supply chain topics.
- To ensure interaction with the European Parliament and the different Directorate Generals in the European Commission, ELA organises joint events and meetings.
The European Certification Board for Logistics (ECBL) is an independent body consisting of member countries who voluntarily agree to share the Standards of Competence for Logistics and adhere to common levels of quality assurance procedures. They are the custodian of the ELA Standards and as such responsible for updating the ELA Standards as and when required.
The ECBL Board is the sole authority for approving the award of a qualification, and no awards under this programme will be allowed without such approval.
ELA and ECBL are connected via ELA nominated members to the ECBL General Assembly.
